well, well, well.
well, well, well, well.
well, well, well, well, well, well, WELL.
seems no one has input any data in these shiny new supposedly safe nso forums yet, save for the introductory launch message made by the nso themselves of course.
i suppose it's up to me to do the honors.
tell me, when you think of classical movies what is the first thing that comes to your mind?
asking for research purposes of course.

idk I guess unless there's some lesson to come out of it
making the main character all grimdark for the sake of it just feels shallow
like in comics where they have a run where they make one of the main characters a bad guy
because
they just can???
like dude what's the point even
that's like books where nazis win the world war or something
no thanks
[ reminds her a bit too much of stuff like that one recent game release with the Metas as the Bad Guys. nnnnnot a fan!
she kind of forgot to answer the other question there oops. ]

i think people just like to project themselves into familiar situations while making it seem slightly more badass.
and there seems to be a pretty strong market for it too, just look at all the grimdark edgy au fanfictions that exist out there!
but i get what you're saying.
for me, i'm not a big fan of anything unless it knows how to throw some good lighthearted comedy in.
there's something fun about something that provides a dichotomy of edgy and dark with silly and fun!

people can write what they want and like what they like
inserting levity is huge though
finding the right timing for it and the right balance without just
like breaking the whole flow
nothing sucks worse than having a REALLY bad joke that cuts in at the wrong time

i mean, the phrase "it's so bad it's good" exists with a reason.
think of battlefeild earth or snakes on a plane.
or the oh-so infamous epic cult classing the room.
heck, even the recent manic jack was hilarious even though it was supposed to be a thriller flick.
but i'm going on a tangent and making a huge nerd of myself in the process.
i think it's just because my personal favorite subject is campy horror/action movies.

you did literally ask for this
so there's no problem
just like there's no problem with liking bad movies or stories
but there's a big difference to me in things that are campy and just
unenjoyable
it's kinda hard to put into words since it's all subjective

but come on, you can't say there's not at least one film out there that is technically horrible but you can't help but love in an ironic sort of way.

everyone has their guilty pleasure
but it's a secret :P

now i am absolutely engrossed by the air of mystery you have placed upon yourself.
how am i ever going to live with this level of suspense and enigma?

or make a game out of guessing it
and who knows maybe I'll submit it for a movie night soon
but not tonight
I've got some work to get to

it's pretty late and i'm almost certain my dad's going to ground me for the rest of my life if he sees that i'm still on the tablet at this hour.
it was pretty sweet talking to you!
definitely going to bug you again some time soon if just to unravel this new, absolutely unnecessary, little tidbit about your life that i feel a compulsive need to figure out.
and maybe talk about more nerd stuff too!
:D
