Though I'm also fond of films that may not have been called "horror", specifically, but can truly be qualified as such. Jacob's Ladder comes to mind!

ah, i see, i see.
i've always been more amused by the 'camp' factor that came with supernatural films myself.
creepy but interesting and kind of cheesy all at once!
extra points if they could do it and still make the movie actually good.
like cabin in the woods or ghostbusters.
