How long back are we going for them to be considered "classic"? Movies have been around for awhile, after all.

anywhere from twenty-five years ago to as far back to the birth of cinema is fine by me!
i want to know peoples opinions and preferences and what they think the true "golden age of cinema" is.
also favorite movies.
because everyone has a favorite old nostalgia film.

In that case, The Lord of the Rings is probably my favorite, right there with The Princess Bride. Original Star Wars, Narnia, Blast From The Past, Beauty and the Beast...lots of good movies!

mostly a fan of the cinematic adaptation era are you?
and props on star wars.
it's a bit mainstream but you can't put down one of the fathers of modern science fiction.
it also takes place during my personal favorite cinematic movement.

Well them's the ones that pop up in my head first at least.

[She lists a few more good ones from the time between then and now. Mostly fantasy and sci-fi but there's some wuxia and martial arts stuff too. Also some weird indie blacksmith action comedy too that isn't too well known.]

you know, the different eras of popular trends within media history?
if you look at every decade from now since the beginnings of entertainment itself there are always very different and prominent trends between each one.
for example, the 2000's were popular for their book/comic to movie adaptations.
