[Marigold's been keeping her head down for the most part after everything went down. Even if the day of the attack was ones of her days off from security stuff, she still feels a bit awkward not being at the NSO tower when crap went down. Still, she was able to help folks outside of the place, so there's that...

Surprisingly to anyone who knows her, perhaps, she actually does take to the network, though it's more to dole out information to keep safe. But...progress?]

Hey guys. Nephenee Vertegrez from the security team here. Hope everyone's holding up alright after everything going on. If anyone needs to talk or someone to train with to get out some tension I'm here if you need me. It's been pretty rough in the past few weeks. Be careful out there. Really don't recommend looking for fights right now.

By the way, folks with cybernetics, if you haven't heard and yours ain't shielded, be careful, they installed some Electro-magnetic pulse thingies in the vents. Short-range I'm hearing. Probably won't mess with us unless we're places we ain't cleared for or crawling around in vents and one goes off, but figured I'd let folks know. EMPs can mess with electronics pretty hard when they go off, bet they mess with some other stuff too.

Anyway, just wanted to check in with folks and let them know about stuff. Take care all.

That's a bit of a security upgrade. Is it because of the fuss in Arcadia?

Arcadia and the stuff here at NSO headquarters, yeah. Don't reckon they want to have more of that, not when the person got past security stuff already in place.

Wasn't their security already tight?

[There's only so much you can upgrade before NSO headquarters becomes less "community center" and more "castle under siege," in Andrei's opinion. He prefers the attitude of the former.

On the other hand, if one is besieged, the latter has its good points.]

Fairly, but I don't think anyone expected someone to come in through the vents of all things. Kinda small.

[She kind of agrees but doesn't see it as THAT much crazier at the NSO. Then again, things look different from the outside...]

[Things look different from the outside, and also, it's quite possible that Andrei is just letting his paranoia run away with him.

That does happen.]

That's a fair point. I suppose not every metahuman is on "our side."

Unfortunately. Wish that weren't the case. I understand the folks getting angry at how we get treated, I really do, but lashing out like they do sometimes is a bit much.

Read about some folks a long time ago that fought discrimination and stuff that hurt other people by fighting back in a more peaceful manner. Actually ended up working out. But with how old the records are, hard to tell what might've been lost along the way.

I'd love to see that sort of thing work, though.

Makes sense. It ain't ideal, but if they're short-range enough...

Either way, we'll have to be on our guard more for sure.

I was told it should be pretty safe for most circumstances but it's good to let people know to be careful

I mean I guess it was either that or super high-powered electromagnets which was probably more dangerous...

Just a bit more dangerous, yeah. Enough electronics around here even without taking into account cybernetics...don't need the whole building going down or people losing stuff and getting hurt.

If they're short-range enough, shouldn't hurt people unless they're IN the vents.

or who would sneak out after curfew

And ya know me, I tend to scurry into small places. But even I ain't that desperate for a place to hide when I'm feeling real shy. Just seems like a bad idea. Same for sneaking out after curfew, just askin for trouble.

But it oughta be safe if folks don't do nothing crazy...

It's calmed down now. The security's beefier, but it's heightened everywhere around the wards in some way. NSO's probably safer than most, to be honest.

For a while I was scared I'd end up getting arrested again.

I'm glad you weren't, but is that common for ya, to get arrested I mean?

Once was bad enough. Didn't go well for me last time. At all. They tossed me in jail.
